Product FAQs
Where can I find the dimensions for the product I want?
We often include the dimensions of a product in the product name. If it’s not there, you can look at the product description of a specific product and find the dimensions under ‘Dimensions & Specifications’.
We usually include a diagram of the product and its dimensions in the product photo area on each product page.
Towel Rail and Radiator FAQs
Do your towel rails come with a guarantee?
Yes! All of our towel rails come with a standard 10 Year Guarantee, Radiators are upto 20 years*, giving you the ultimate peace of mind.
*Note: The 20-year guarantee applies to certain products only. Please refer to the product details for more information.
Do I need straight or angled valves for my towel rail?
The type of valve you require depends on the installation of your towel rail. If your pipework comes up from the ground, you’ll need a straight radiator valve. Whereas if your pipework comes from the wall at an angle, angled valves would be best. You will need to check the style of the radiator to ensure this rule applies.
Do all radiators require 4 X brackets to fix to the wall?
The brackets you need will depend on the size and style of the towel radiator.
Most radiators will share the same generic instruction manual. Generally speaking, the instructions will recommend using four brackets.
However, the number of brackets for your specific product will depend on how many come in the package. You’ll need to use all brackets that come with the product to fit your radiator securely.
What are the radiators made from at Bathroom Takeaway?
Our radiators and towel rails are made from carbon steel. Our heating products are powder-coated to give them a strong and good-looking finish.
Can Bathroom Takeaway towel rails be used on a standard central heating system
Yes, our heated towel rails can be connected like a normal radiator. Our products all have high heat outputs, so they not only warm your towels, but your whole bathroom too.
Can your towel rails be converted to dual fuel?
Some, but not all, of our towel rails can be converted to dual fuel. Please choose one of our many prefilled options to suit your needs.
What do I need to make my towel rail dual fuel?
To convert a towel rail to duel fuel, you’ll need one of our dual fuel kits.
What size element is required for the towel rail I’ve purchased?
The element you need will depend on the height and width of your towel rail.
Take a look at our element sizing guide:

How are your heat outputs calculated?
Our heat outputs are all independently tested to the EN442 standard under the Construction Products regulation. Unlike other retailers, we give the true heat output rather than a fictitious figure. We recommend asking any retailer for the heat output by asking for the Declaration of performance for a particular product.
What is the difference between Delta T50 and Delta T60 in relation to heat output?
Delta T50 is the European recognised standard for calculating heat outputs. All our radiators are measured at T50 temperature of 75°C. A heat output listed at Delta T60 needs to be multiplied by 0.79 to convert it to Delta T50.
Can my heated towel rail be used as electric only?
Heated towel rails can be used as electric only. Simply fit the element and fill the towel rail with 95% water and 5% inhibitor, leaving a 25ml gap at the top.
If used as electric only (completely isolated), the 25ml gap should prevent overflowing. We do recommend that a qualified installer carries out the installation of your electric towel rail.
What are the electric towel rails filled with?
Towel rails are filled with glycol as standard. This filling material is propylene glycol-based, which is a non-toxic heat transfer fluid. Glycol offers antifreeze and inhibitor functions designed for heating systems and sealed radiators.
Are the electric elements PTC?
No, the elements are not PTC elements. Please see product pages of the elements for the full specifications.
You cannot fit the element at the top as the heat connects through the bottom and travels upwards. If it was to be installed at the top, the heat wouldn’t be able to circulate.
Please always follow the instructions on how to fit the heating element.
What IP rating are the electric radiators / elements?
Depending which heating element you choose, please refer to the product page for the specifications. Some elements are IP44, IP55 and IP67 rated for the Zone 2 area.
Can I Order Any Valves To Go With Any Radiator?
Our valves are of a universal fit for our radiators, which is a 15mm inlet connection and ½” BSP outlet. However, the type of valves needed will very much depend on the pipework you have in place and we always recommend you check this with a plumber.
Basin and Sink FAQs
What Type Of Waste Do I Require For My Basin?
Basin wastes come either 'slotted' (for use with basins with an overflow hole), or 'unslotted' (for basins with no overflow).
You can see which type your basin requires in the product description.
My basin tap clicks when raising the lever?
A number of our mono basin mixers have a water-saving feature with three settings: off, reduced flow and full flow. There is greater resistance to switch from reduced flow to full flow, encouraging the use of its water-saving setting. Therefore, the click is normal and expected.
